The AI is solving a different problem
I built a product alone for a year. In the last month I started working with a top AI model, because I was stuck on two things: the payment platform and the teleprompter. It was supposed to make this easy. It almost made me lose my mind.
Four receipts, with the exact words from the session on screen.
One. It spent three nights fixing a bug that did not exist, and wrote the wrong iOS version into every file after I had corrected it twice. Two. It forgot a fact one day after that fact was written into its own memory. Three. I moved payment provider, and days later it came across the old provider's name in my notes, in the same folder it works from, and the decision reset. Four. I pointed it at the corrected 27-page document I had written, and it came back and told me the 44-page version in another folder looked more robust. The robust one was its own, full of things that did not matter.
The pattern underneath: priors beat corrections, stored is not used, recalled facts have no date, tidy beats true. The model does not remember, it re-derives, and the longer you work together the harder it pulls back to what it was trained on. Memory files and check-ins reduce that. Nothing removes it.
Then the rules I work by now, each one born from a receipt. And the twist: this talk was drafted by the model it is about, from its own memory files of being wrong, and I checked every line and rewrote what was not mine. That is the job.

About Fuad Laguda
Fuad Laguda is the founder of Postbarrel (postbarrel.com), a web app that interviews you, writes your video script in your own words and runs it as a teleprompter over the phone camera. He built it alone over a year in Stirling after an MSc in Financial Technology (Distinction) at the University of Stirling. Building the camera part, he found and reported an iOS Safari recording regression that Apple's WebKit team accepted the next day, open-sourced the fix (github.com/lagudafuadtosin/web-teleprompter) and wrote it up on dev.to. Before Postbarrel he spent ten years in infrastructure and cloud identity engineering in Lagos, leading a zero-downtime Microsoft 365 migration for 200 users across three countries, and is a Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator.
